The new scanner enables Immico to capture highly accurate digital models of complex components, making it an invaluable asset across multiple stages of our workflow.

Its primary applications will include:

  • Enhanced Quality Checking

The scanner provides micron-level dimensional accuracy, allowing the engineering team to verify part geometry with exceptional confidence. This supports tighter quality control, faster validation cycles, and improved consistency across production runs.

  • Reverse Engineering Legacy and Low-Volume Components

Many discontinued or bespoke parts present challenges when original CAD data is missing or non-existent. With the new 3D scanning system, Immico can now rapidly reverse engineer these components, generating precise digital models suitable for redesign, optimisation, and reproduction.

  • Upgrading Old Parts with Immico High-Performance Insulation

One of the most impactful uses of the scanner will be refreshing older components by integrating Immico’s high performance thermal insulation solutions. By digitising and re- engineering worn or outdated parts, we can apply modern insulation technologies that enhance durability, efficiency, and thermal stability, extending component life and improving overall system performance. For example OEM one-layer metallic heatshields can be redesigned to sandwich F1 grade insulation material whilst retaining the original mounting points and packaging boundaries.

This investment marks another step in Immico’s commitment to advanced manufacturing, engineering excellence, and delivering cutting-edge thermal protection across industries.
