NAPA Extend Championship Lead at High Speed Thruxton

The Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship returned from its summer break with three action-packed races at Thruxton. The fastest circuit on the BTCC calendar. It proved to be another fantastic weekend for the teams we support at Immico, with strong performances across the board and another significant boost for NAPA Racing UK's championship campaign.

Sutton Extends His Championship Lead

Ash Sutton once again demonstrated why he's the driver to beat in 2026. A hugely consistent weekend saw the four-time BTCC Champion secure one race victory and two second-place finishes, extending his lead at the top of the Drivers' Championship.

Race two showcased Sutton at his very best, capitalising early before controlling the race from the front to claim his sixth victory of the season. He then backed it up with another runner-up finish in the final race, ensuring NAPA Racing leaves Thruxton with maximum momentum heading into Knockhill.

Strong Team Performance for NAPA Racing

It wasn't just Sutton flying the flag for NAPA Racing.

Dan Cammish enjoyed another competitive weekend, claiming back-to-back podium finishes with second place in Race 2 and third in Race 3. His pace throughout the weekend played an important role in strengthening NAPA Racing's position at the top of the Teams' Championship.

Senna Proctor also impressed during his substitute appearance, producing two top-five finishes after stepping into the car at short notice.

The combined performances helped Alliance Racing and NAPA Racing UK maintain their lead in both the Manufacturers'/Constructors' and Teams' Championships. A testament to the strength and consistency of the entire organisation.

Another Impressive Weekend for Restart Racing

It was also encouraging to see another strong weekend from Restart Racing.

James Dorlin continued to showcase his potential with finishes of ninth, sixth and sixth, while once again collecting valuable Independents' Championship and Jack Sears Trophy points. Competing against vastly more experienced drivers, Dorlin continues to prove he belongs at the sharp end of the BTCC grid and remains firmly in the hunt for Jack Sears Trophy honours.

Thermal Management Matters

At circuits like Thruxton, where cars spend prolonged periods at full throttle and average speeds are among the highest of the season, effective thermal management becomes even more critical. Managing temperatures around the exhaust system, turbocharger and surrounding components helps maximise reliability and maintain performance throughout every lap.
